CourtSpeak: Digital Audio on PACER

Beginning April 2016, the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Montana has made digital audio files of court hearings available to the public over the internet through the Public Access to Court Electronic Records (PACER) system.  Audio files of all court proceedings, unless otherwise specified by the Judge, will be uploaded to the Case Management/Electronic Case Files (CM/ECF) system.

Social Security or taxpayer-identification numbers; dates of birth; names of minor children; and financial account numbers, in compliance with Fed. R. Bankr. P. 9037 must be redacted. Counsel and the parties are responsible for guaranteeing that pleadings and testimony comply with this rule. If personal identifiers are mentioned in a hearing, the audio of that hearing will be uploaded to the CM/ECF system as a sealed document.

The CourtSpeak (MP3) audio recording via Pacer is a copy of a court proceeding and is provided as a convenience to the public. It is NOT the Official Record.
